Default Overtorqued Self Locking Nut on Damper Shaft

OK. So I changed out my struts on the front of my Element, got them back in, took it for a drive this morning and heard a knocking on the driver's side. I inspected and found that I still had a few mm's to go to fully tighten the self locking nylon nut on the damper shaft. I grabbed my electric torque wrench and gave it a quick shot, only I didn't realize that it was still set to 350 ft lbs and i saw the rubber bushing turn and shoot out a couple of little bits of rubber. So I'm just hoping that the bushing is still workable in this condition. I read my manual and realized the nut was only supposed to be 33ft lbs! FML. My question is...will this cause me some real issues? Should I just replace the strut mount now, or can I wait a while without causing any permanent damage?
