Default Cold start knock 2000 Gen 1 CRV

I recently inherited a 2000 Honda Gen 1 CRV ( B20B engine )with 175K miles in very good condition . It has a slight cold start knock (bottom end - rod bearing ?) which goes away within 1-2 seconds. The are no obvious oil pressure problems beyond the cold start knock. How near the end is this engine ? Is there anything I can do to make last it longer (eg -move from 5W30 to 10w30 oil - I am in SE US). Is it worth replacing the bearings now ( pulling oil pan, leave top end alone ). ? - Thanks

Edit - More info -

I inherited the car from a relative . The car has had regular oil changes but most were at the quick oil change places so the quality of the oil filters used is questionable ( poor anti-drainback valves ?). I recently changed the oil with 5W30 and a Honda filter and observed no change in symptoms.

I am pretty familiar with engine sounds. I believe that its a bottom end knock (excessive bearing clearance ) and it goes away when the oil pressure builds up .

usually a knock from the bottom end that occurs cold is piston slap. cylinders would need to be bored and honed. however, without hearing or seeing it, i couldn't guarantee it was your problem

is it pretty loud knock? when was the last time your changed your oil? check your valve clearance...hopefully its not the rod bearings or something that you have to drop the bottom end
