When did the Del get the B16?
New member here, I am about to buy a fairly good condition honda del sol from a family member, low miles 120k miles, the color is in green. absolutely in great condition 40 miles per gallon.
I was told that it had vtec, and a 1993.
Question is did the 1993 del sol came with the b16 or the d-series.
edited: not overhauled, timing belt replaced, just overall taken cared off by an adult. throughout its life.

94-95 del sol vtec came with the b16a3. If it is an si model then it came with d16z6 which has vtec, the s model however got the d15b7 which is not vtec. Note that is 93-95 model del sol's.
overhaul at 90k?
it wasn't taken care of....or beat on.
make sure quality of overhaul was good. If you can't verify it further then owners word, Id walk unless it was cheap of course.
and...bs on the 40 mpg. only engine pulling those numbers are jdm stage 3 vtecs.
d16z6 or b16 (the only oem vtecs available in america in the sol) aren't putting down 40 mpg unless your hypermilling it/ or turning it off coasting downhill
