i own a 93 civic hatchback with a ls swap recently it started to smoke when on stop lights and long stops never did that before unless i step on it (until oil change and i drove it for like 3-4 hours in 106 weather)

i use bosch oil filter with mobile 1 10-30 full synthetic

when i checked the oil level it was not marking so i took my other car to work because was running late so i had called my brother to go buy some quarts to fill it up between the low n high marks
(car was warmed and was not cold) but i got home from work did not check it out till the next day it was past the High mark

would it make it smoke like that
(please keep in mind that has a rebuilt head and new piston rings headgasket)
i checked the pvc valve it clicks good there was oil residue on it (car was running operating temp pcv removed clicked find) would this be the cause of overfill

any help would be considered
