im a castrol gtx man myself. I used to work at a oil change joint in high school for a few months and I would change my oil all the time (when no one was around, lol) and tried all the brands I had access to. One of the co workers actually went as far as dipping a magnet it the used oil as a test etc.
My findings = castrol ran the best/sounded the best/felt the best
His findings = penzoil had the least shavings in it.
I used castrol gtx exclusively since. 5w/30 or 10w30 depends on the season.
The oil though isn't nearly as important as the filter in my opinion. I got a case of OEM filters that I use. There a bit more expensive, but piece of mind is....well
