Can a ecu tuned on chrome be re-tuned? (noob)

Like the title says. If I bought a p28 ecu that's been tuned on chrome, can it be re-tuned for my car's specifications?

If it's tuned on Crome, this assumes it's chipped and if it's chipped, a retune depends on what type of chip is installed. If it's a common chip like an SST 27SF512 then it can be reprogrammed.

yes certain chips are eprom which means erasable programable memory, and can be overwritten

Yep, i've retuned my same chip dozens of time while trying to get my tune perfect
