Let me introduce myself. My name is Eric, I am 24. I am an Electrical Engineer at Honda, and I just bought my first Honda. I have been a Ford guy for years, and I still am.. (see below) Its got a long way to go, but Itll be fun.
Its got the Honda Cancer in the wheel wells and rockers, so I bought some new ones. They came in yesterday, and I will start on them as soon as my friends EM1 is out of my garage. HAHA. He is doing a GSR/LS 2.0 swap lookin for 600whp.
Bought the car for 800 in michigan. PERFECT interior (some of the carpet is pulled out, but still in excellent shape) and it came with 4 extra rims and tires, a new hood, and a 95 D15b7 with 60k on it so I can swap to MPFI. Just bought a CRX cluster with tach, and an OBD1 ECU so I can do the MPFI swap on the stock motor while I build the spare D15 for boost. Well here are some pics to start. Im doing a little DD suspension work.
New HardRace trailing arm bushings, new brakes, and OEM wheel bearings. (i get a decent discount since I work for Honda) and 45 mpg is pretty great. I also cannot wait to get a 5spd. If youre in the C-Bus OH area and you have a cable 5spd let me know.

My friends 00' SI

MY 500hp 2.5liter Turbo 4cyl 95Ranger. Currently under restoration. Getting a Mustang II front suspension setup and IRS from a Thunderbird.

Better pics on the way.

Good project car. I would remove Astar sticker, find a driver door molding, Find rear mudflaps and try and find a rear bumper without the dual exhaust cutout and youll be good. Hope to see progress.

Well... I already have new rockers and wheel wells sitting in the garage. Just waiting for my friends 00 si build to be out of my garage to start the body panels.
I took the door molding off to paint. I have it. I have no idea why someone cut out the bumper... It looks retarded. But thanks for the input.

Looks good Eric, I can't wait to weld in those patch panels and paint this thing!

i had the same thought on the cluster ....that seems like the easiest way to disguise an auto cluster i might have to go back to the junkyard and pull the auto gsr one they have
I have a crx si cluster sitting with 80k on it... but its auto so I haven't used it in my sedan, but I'm thinking about trying to find a sticker like this

I did buy the cluster with the sticker. I was wondering if it was auto, but I didnt want to pull it up and then have the gears showing. I think it looks alright. Just a plain 5spd cluster probably would look better though.

Well I broke a bunch of bolts taking the LCA's off, so I picked up some new bolts at work, and energy bushings. Pressed out the old bushings (that way the bolts came out too) and pressed in the new. Got everything put back together (which is a huge PITA to do!!!) and I started to reassemble the drums and figured out I was given the wrong Self adjuster kit. Ordered a new one yesterday, and should be back on the road tomorrow. Which is good because driving the diesel everyday is really suckin the cash flow.
Ill post my opinion of the ES bushings once I drive it. Greased up like crazy, so hopefully no squeaks.

you should swap the speedometer from your old cluster to your new one to keep the mileage accurate. four screws on the back of the cluster removes it, no need to worry about tampering with mileage.

So I have an extra D15b7 with P06 computer and MPFI and harness, so I was going to swap it into the EF with the SI trans I just picked up. 102 hp compared to the 70 I currently have, it should feel like a rocket.
My question is, if I get an A6 cam, would that help with the B7 like it does with the B1? I also got an A6 to build a turbo kit for but the B7 will get most everything ironed out with the OBD1 swap first though.

Thank you. Ya the interior is very very nice. Im not quite sure How it was kept so nice and the outside so poorly.. I should be doing quarters and wheel wells in September as soon as garage space frees up from the Other Si currently whoring the extra bay.
Ok, did some research and I am definately getting an A6 cam. Found one on here for $60 which I feel is a decent price for something that is getting harder to find.

Painted a spare fiberglass hood I had laying around. Im trying to "restore" this thing on a slight budget and there was some paint I wanted to try.
http://www.duplicolor.com/products/psFinishSystem/
I ended up doing Dark Emerald Green mettalic, with 2 coats of mettalic clear and 5 coats of regular clear. I did not use Paint shop clear since I had some clear left over from painting my ranger.
This paint lays down very very well. As good or better than any of the paint I have ever used from Sherwin williams or PPG. It is VERY easy to spray. The clear (could be me, but Im not sure) layed down a little hazy, with orange peel, but after I wetsanded, it looks outstanding. Great mirror finish. I highly reccommend this paint to anyone whether or not youre doing it on a budget. The entire car will be getting painted this color, I just wanted to make sure I liked it first. I havent finished wet sanding or buffing, but I will post pics tonight when I do. I was just really pumped and wanted to share
BTW, does anyone even read this?

Ive always like duplicolor my self. I mostly used the spray paint. It lays down pretty easily and good. The biggest part is following manufactures' instructions. It helps alot.

d15b1
z6 intake manifold with ls throttle body
si transmission
ebay header/test pipe
obx-r 2.5" cat back
custom 2.75" intake pipe to the stock air box
a6 cam with y8 cam gear to align the camshaft back up right
stock pm6 ecu
the motor was the stock motor with 220k on it, and the sucker burned more oil than gas thanks to the previous owner pulling it apart and then putting it back together w/o replacing the rings, but man did it rip!
the a6 cam made the bottom end feel like it was more responsive and torquey. you do have to use either an adjustable cam gear or a y8 cam gear to make up for the deck height difference between the 1.5l and the 1.6l blocks.

Ya, I definitely knew about the y8 stuff. I have a cam on the way. I just need a y8 gear.
So I have good news and bad news. Bad news first. The EF blew the head gasket yesterday. Sucks. I was picking up my Si trans and I was an hour away from home. Had to get a ride back home to get my diesel and a trailer. The trailer I used was super sketchy. HAHA. Ill have to post a pic.
But good news is, Ill be putting the "good" motor in sooner than expected. So this week Ill be doing a motor swap.

Alright. I got off my butt yesterday and started the motor swap. I still need to acquire a few things. y8 cam gear is on the top of the list. Someone PM'd me and said they had one, and when I asked for paypal info they wont get back to me... ugh...
Anyway. Everything is disconnected all I need to do is pop out the axles, take the linkage off, and pull it out.

OBD1 D15B7

Cam is out. Im getting my A6 cam in the mail tomorrow! YAY

Ill be converting my DPFI harness to MPFI this week. Ill be using this as a bit of a guide, but Mine should look more professional.

Now, if you plan to swap this in ever, there are a couple of differences that need to be addressed.
First, the Coolant inlet is angled differently.
OBD0

OBD1

THe coolant outlet also has an extra sensor on the OBD1 that is in a different spot on the OBD0 motor
OBD1 sensor

OBD0

The OBD0 sensor is located above the oil filter. Here is a shot of the OBD1 motor with a plug where you need to swap the sensor over.

Those are the only differences I could find so far. Ill keep a lookout for any others.
Oh and here is my hood. It had a little orange peel, but its all cleaned up now.
Orange peel before sanding

After

It looks way more metallic in person and I love the color. I need to figure out what Im going to paint the bay... I am thinking deep purple... Any suggestions? Remember, my car is going to be green.

Well I have a small hiccup with the cam. I recieved the a6 cam in the mail yesterday and it looks IDENTICAL to the cam that came out of the B7. Either he sent me a useless cam, or the b7 I have already had a cam swap... Found the part #'s at work and got the drawings. Im going to mic the cams after work and figure out which is which. I was told it would be visually obvious that the A6 cam was bigger. Numbers will tell the truth fairly soon.
