Default Adventure riders?

Anybody on this forum an ADVer? I'm definitely getting in to it. I can't risk injury with my job, so I'll likely keep my adventures fairly mild for now, but I have a couple of friends that are big BMW GS nuts. I'm sure we'll get together and do something exciting!

My ride of choice is a 2001 KTM 520 EXC-R. I bought it lightly used and rode it around on the street for a little while before tearing into it to make it a dual sport dirt bike. It's got some DBZ luggage, a total of 7.6 gallons of useable fuel, an uprated stator and regulator to power better lights and my iPhone, 50/50 Kenda tires, better highway sprockets, and some other random things like replacement parts for broken or worn pieces.

How I bought it:

Parts arrival:

How it sits today-- still some work to do:

So anybody with a dual sport / adventure bike, post up some pictures!!!

How in the heck does fuel from the lower front of the tank get to the petcock when you are running low? I guess you could use that as an excuse when you get pulled over for doing wheelies. lol

I can see just normal riding sloshing it from front to back but what about side to side? Is there a petcock on both sides?

Nice bike BTW. You should check out ADVrider.com if you haven't already.

I think they say there's about half a gallon that is "difficult" to get out of the tank. There is a cross tube, I believe-- haven't completely hooked it up yet! I am on ADVrider, I just like this forum and wanted to see who was out there!

I have done some exploring on my drz, but try to keep out of the crazy stuff since I have supermoto wheels on it. (sold my dirt wheels) She still gets dirty though haha

Sometimes the gps lies about the roads lol I ended up having to ride through a creek to get to get to where I was heading, haha
