Default '91 Accord CEL codes 8 & 9 was not distributor. Solved it for those interested.

I wanted to post in case this helps someone else in the same boat. I had posted beginning a couple weeks back regarding CEL codes 8 and 9, engine stumbling at speed, shutting off at speed, and going through a couple Autozone distributors and a main relay (had the hairline solder cracks). I had no were else to look but the ECM connections and toning out the wires from the distributor plug to the ECM. As I was messing with trying to get the ECM connectors off, little droplets of water flew of the plug when I unplugged it. If I had blinked or the lighting wasn't just right I would have missed them. A while back I had a coolant leak at the heater core nipples because I had bent one of them while trying to remove a baked on hose. It was a very slight leak that wouldn't even leave a puddle, I'd just notice I'd be down on coolant once in a while. I ended up double clamping the heater hose to fix the leak. Apparently some coolant had eventually worked it's way down the ECM wires to the plug and was messing with the connection. I blew the connectors out, sprayed with some electrical cleaner, and packed in a bit of dialectric gel. Then I looked iside the ECM and made sure it didn't get wet inside. It all looked fine but I'm not 100% confident some ECM damage wasn't done or some of it didn't work it's way into the pin outs in the ECM. It feels fine to me but the wife swears it doesn't pass on the freeway as well as it use to. That could be a tank of bad fuel for now though. It's been over 100 miles with no more stumbling, quitting or CEL lights. I'm leaving in the Autozone/Cardone distributor #2 for now even though my old one tests fine. When I'm up on cash I plan on ordering an OEM dizzy and maybe an ECM. I count on this thing daily and don't mind the cost up front if it saves me headaches. I read bad things about AZ's dist. reliability.
