Default sawp for a 96 auto

i was just wondering what my options are as far as an automatic go... i really do want a stick and was thinking about sellign mine to get one, but i have already done some cosmetic work to my car and was wondering if it was worth keeping. What swaps are most practical for an automatic? i hear h22's are nice and powerful, and would the swap be the same as a manual just that i need an auto tranny instread of a manual?? thanks

why **** your car up like that? I have a 96 auto and I was thinknig of trading it in for an eGG hatch as a straight trade or something, I want a stick... I thought about it and you guys said any b-series tranny bolts up to any b-series block, right? So would an ls auto tranny bolt in with some kind of b-series swap? or are the mounts different... I assume they are but I don't know... Anyone know if this would work? it's an option... but IMO I wouldn't waste the money when I could trade for an eGG stick and drop a motor in...

I had thought about this myself. The poop from the informed community is that the automatic B series trannies that are sold in the U.S. are incompatible with the mounts in the Civic. The Integra automatics have apparently different mount points, and the subframe is also very different.

I've also had trickles from the JDM community that the automatic that comes in the JDM GSR automatic WILL fit, however, but I cannot confirm or deny this rumor at the time. I refer you to my thoughts:
