suspension on 96 hatch???
i have a 96 DX hatch and was wanting to upgrade the handling on it a bit...if i dont want to spend a ton of money on buying springs AND shocks, i know that its not reccommended to use aftermarket springs with stock shocks, but what about aftermarket shocks with stock springs??? and if that is okay what shocks are reccommended??? thakns
You can do that, add new struts to stock springs. I think you should be fine.
But getting new springs is a good idea anyways. You can get them really cheap now. You can find some adjustables as low as 100 bucks. Or just invest in some good ones for 200 bucks. I think you'll see better handling through springs more then struts.
Some struts have lowering perchs on them. My koni yellows had them. I'm not sure about any other struts.
Also, IF you do decide to install stock springs on aftermarket struts, make sure to get a spring compressor, cause those stock springs are a b!tch to get on and off
