Change rod bearings in car - easy?
Hi all, I've got a knock in our '95 Odyssey (F22B6 which is why I'm posting here) and I suspect it's from a bad rod bearing on cylinder 3. I'm planning to drop the oil pan this weekend and see if that rod is noticeably loose on the crank by seeing if I can wiggle it. From searching around on here and other sites I've heard of people replacing these bearings with the engine still in the car but is there really room to do this? The way the threads go is something like "I just dropped the pan, popped the rod cap out..." and so on. The way they make it sound is that there's no issue working with the crank girdle in the way while under the car. Is it really that simple to get at them? Has anyone here done this?
Thanks!
Thanks!
