Started just today, whenever i turn on my 92 accord lx it the car will shake a bit in a fashion that feels like a loose belt is turning. It stops after a few seconds, my guess is the belt tightens itself or whatever. Ive tightened the alternator belt recently and its begun to come loose again( noted by a squeel when the car starts lol). Anyone think it could be that, or something else?

 

If the car is shaking, I don't think it's the belt. Do you mean the engine is shaking?

 

Yeah, if it the entire engine shaking...possible broken engine mount?

 

oh man you know what you guys are probably right.. i checked the front engine mount and that thing is done lol, barely anything left of it. Any idea how much replacing the engine mounts would take, work and all?

 

Front engine mount is pretty simple to do. Jack the engine up enough by it's oil pan cushioned on a block of wood. Then loosened up the front engine mount. I can't remember you need to remove the front engine mount bracket to get to the bottom bolts of the front engine mount.
