Default Master Cylinder Interchangability - Accord -vs- Odyssey?

The vehicles in question:

- '99 Accord LX (non-ABS with drum brakes), made in Japan, Nissin M/C with 15/16" bore

- '98 Odyssey LX (non-ABS with drum brakes), Nissin M/C with 15/16" bore

Reason I pose this question is the Accord needs a new M/C due to age (i.e. brake pedal needs more travel to stop the car). Searching online for new Nissin M/C's I find one that is priced at a significant savings compared to the dealership.

Haven't installed it yet, but the replacement (Odyssey) M/C has identical exterior dimensions and reservoir w/cap to the M/C installed in the Accord at the factory. If all goes well with the install, system bleed and road test, I'll update this thread with the Nissin and Honda part numbers for future cross reference.

That is not an MC issue. If the pedal is becoming longer either the brake fluid is old(anything over 2 years old is ancient) or there is a leak in the wheel cylinders.
A failing MC either randomly drops the pedal, or the pedal goes to the floor.

FWIW the Ody has a 1" MC, and the Accord has a 15/16" MC.

If you install the 1" MC the pedal will be harder, and you will reduce the amount of out pressure you can generate to the brakes. Not good.

Go to Rock Auto, purchase a Centric unit and here's 5% off on me..
