Default auto accord tranny has mind of its own

my moms 94 ex accord has tranny problems. sometimes it drives fine but other times it wants to rev real high before shifting itself. it also tends to happen more frequently when the car has been driven and heated up. one time when driving to tahoe (up elevation) it just downshifted it self and was stuck reving near redline so we just pulled over. anybody know the problem?

tranny rebuild coming up. Check the fluid levels - does it smell burned? Change the fluid with the recommended quality/quantity.

Pray it lasts awhile longer.

mine did that but the cable was getting stuck.. the thottle butterfly wasnt coming all the way back up and it would keep revving. so i fixed the cable ..

oh you might want to flush it and pull that little magnetic screw to make sure its all clean and stuff? i think
