Default A/C not blowing hard enough

Just picked up a 1993 accord ex. The air wasnt working at all when I first got my hands on it, so I replaced the blower motor. Now air blows but barely anything is coming out of the vents on any setting.
I can hear doors moving when I switch settings, and the air moves to different vent locations, but its still poor air flow.
One thing that I've been wondering that might be to blame is the 'breather tube' that comes out of the blower motor. The input hole on the blower motor for the tube is smaller on the new motor than it was on the factory original. So this forced me to squeeze the tube in the smaller hole, which may be restricting air flow.
Could that have anything to do with my problem? Or is it something else entirely?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Is it comign out of your defroster? Sometimes one of the diverter doors can be stuck, and it will be coming out of the defroster, or even sometimes out the heat(bottom vents) Does the blower motor sound like it is running strong? is the intake(In front of the windshield) blocked by chance?

It's blowing out all of the vents, the defroster, and the floor. It's just really weak. The blower sounds like it's working very hard, but I'm going to check the voltage to make sure it's spinning at the right rpm.

I popped one of the front vents off so I could see the door inside, and it's moving fully when I change the settings. The door that controls the heat and the a/c flow is also moving fully. To me, this points out a blockage issue, but I checked the intake in front of the windshield like you mentioned and nothing was blocking it. The door out there is also opening and closing fully.

If the voltage to the motor is wrong, then I think it's going to be something in line with the switch and the motor. But if the voltage is right, then I honestly don't know what else to try.

Any other suggestions are more than welcome

and thanks for the reply tim73

Did you check the cable that moves the arm? It might be loose or stretched. My cable on my CE1 is messed up I have to pull it to get it to blow cold.

Hi there. Reviving this thread as my first post. I have a 1990 Accord LX and am experiencing a similar problem. Blower motor was recently replaced (though not by me) and everything seems functional (hot/cool; recirc; defroster vents; upper vents; lower vents; all fan speeds) except for that air flow is exceptionally weak. Intake at windshield on driver’s side outside is not immediately blocked. Though, I haven’t taken anything apart yet. Any luck resolving the problem? And, if so, what had to be done? Thank you!

Most aftermarket motors don't come with the factory plug connection. You have to splice the wires together.

Then add that the motors are bi-directional.

Simple thing I would do - switch the two wires going to the motor. I'm willing to bet the motor is spinning the wrong way creating bad flow. I've seen this happen 100's of times.
