I'm sure I did something wrong?? need knowledgeable rsx person
Please read, a lil long but not complicated
So I recently had to change my throwout bearing on 02 rsx type s.
When I was draining my tranny fluid through the side drain plug some tranny fluid came out, I think maybe about 1/3 of a quart. (the car was on two jack stands on the front only)
Anyways I went on with the job and completed it. Changed the bearing and put everything back together and I added two quarts of Honda MTF
Driving shortly after, I'd say within the week of the job my fourth gear starts to pop out under acceleration; so for example if in fourth gear cruising at 3k RPM's it wouldn't really pop out unless I begin to pass whatever RPM's I was at like 3k in example.
After about a month of driving the car in this condition; on one regular hot Miami day while being stopped at the checkers drive thru, I hear a weird noise coming from the drivers side..lets say by the drivers axle.. and as I begin to release the clutch and accelerate to pull away I feel the car having a hard time moving forward (the engine was not struggling) it was like if the e-brake was engaged but on the front of the car not the back. I decided to tow it home.
Before the tow truck got there I tried to move it and at one point it let me drive completely. When I came to a stop the same thing happened again; this time my shifter wouldn't come out, it was stuck. I would try to move forward but nothing it was as if the e-brake was on.
Today I began to take down the tranny to see whats going on and I notice when I am draining the fluid the same thing happens, only a little bit came out; less than half a quart and it was completely dark!
Apparently I didn't completely flush out the tranny last time ??? The two fresh qts I added must have mixed in with old MTF and that's why it came out dark which also means I over filled my tranny and drove it like this for about a month... luckily I don't drive like an ***.
So give me some knowledge people.. I probably did something dumb I know. This was my first time taking down the tranny and changing a throwout bearing and I did it by my self also using some HT Resources.
Let me know what you all think??

Ok so there is a drain bolt and a fill bolt... you did of course open the drain bolt to drain the system right? Not try to drain it from the fill bolt?
Also when you are filling you need to go slow and once you see fluid come back out of the fill hole STOP adding fluids right away and put your plug back in.
Now how did you do it?

from what i understand when you change the tranny fluid the car is supposed to be supported front and back evenly level on 4 jack stands.. but i dont think thats what the problem is.
it looks like youre leaking tranny fluid, see if your axle is correctly in place.
i had a similar problem when i did my first tranny flush and it turned out the drivers side axle was popping out of place which caused most of the fluid to drain out. i ended up buying an axle boot set from honda and i only needed to replace the ring on the end of the shaft that locks the axle into place

OMG you took off a sensor to fill it?!!? that is way to much fluid then! you filled it wrong
I have a video on changing the fluids... it is in the stickies...
