Kenwood MPV619 -VS- Pioneer 7400MP
the pioneer definitely SOUNDS better. its got an adjustable high pass filter. it'll play low freqs thru subwwoofers instead of ur interior speakers. another nice feature is the front imaging enhancement feature. it'll play mids and highs thru the front speakers and leave lows for rear speakers. great sound control. i also think the pioneer is a more handsome deck. it has great user friendly menus. the included screen savers are also cool. lastly, sub volume control. [priceles feature] some songs just have overbearing bass, and some dont have enough. this is awesome.
im not too crazy about the silver face of the kenwood, but it was a gift and i really wanted an MP3 player at the time. a couple of things the MPV619 has on the 7400MP is MP3 load time. the pioneer takes a noticably longer time to load MP3s. sucks. also, the buttons on the pionner are a joke. good thing i dont use the tuner anymore lol. file navigation is pretty straightforward. u can use the arrows to find your MP3s.
overall im happy with the 7400MP. decent internal amp. 3 pairs of pre amps. front, rear, and sub.
also, does anyone know what sub phase is? whats the difference between normal and reverse?

my friends sister has the kenwood I agree with you on the load time but that thing does not have anwhere near the same ammount of audio features as the pioneer 7400. I would choose the 8400 though, quite a few more features, that I need.
Sub Phase is when you switch the subs movement from being in the out position when all the other speakers are out (in phase) or the sub moving opposite to the other speakers (out of phase). It is designed so that your sub which can be mounted facing backwards or in the trunk is in sync with the other speakers in your system for better bass response.
at what setting should i have my subs? it has four ports on the top. two in each chamber.
