Default BuMM's Low&Slow Build :3

So this is my first Honda build. Picked up this 1990 Honda Civic Si off a friend
of mine. Exterior probably an 8. Interior a 10! Completely stock with a rebuilt
engine. Had 500 miles on the engine and 114,000 on the body. My plans are
to keep the d16a6, just add some stuff to it. Getting it to be my stanced daily.
Here's a picture the day I got it.

My Friend was doing a y8 swap in this ek coupe and bought this no name test
pipe. Then figured out it wasn't going to work. Sold it to me for $30.

Before I got that, I ordered some sleeveovers then they arrived shortly after.
Going to put them and the test pipe on Wednesday.

I'll update with pics on thursday :3

The part's im going to attain in this build

So my friend Nathan and I started putting the sleeveovers on last night around 9:30.
Got the backs on, went to do the fronts and got stuck. The bolt connecting the fork to
the lower control arm was seized. We stopped at like 2:30 am. It started raining at his
house when he got off work so we are waiting till it clears up. hopefully it will clear up
soon so we can get it done tonight.

Here she is.. Not as low as i was hoping.. Fronts are all the way down and its like a snug
3 fingers :/ rear is raised about 3/4 inch higher. The ride really isnt all to bad, roads are
fairly decent were i live though. Overall I'm just happy that im not 4x4 anymore.

sucks that you're going to "stance out" a minty clean si, but if you want low you're going to need something better than ebay junk, like full bodies or bags. even then ef's weren't built to be super low like how ek's can go with out having custom spindles made, or performing surgery on your shock towers. good luck with your build though.

also, do you mean DC integra center console? because da's have slanted dash's like crx's do, the center console wont fit right up to a civic hatch/sedan dash. installing a half rad into our cars takes modification, and the stock sized radiator has no problem cooling our cars, why change it?

Do stanced and daily really go in the same sentence? The guy I bought my EF from had put similar "sleeve overs" on the car and dropped them all the way down. I thought it made the car ride like ****. I second DCRB on the radiator, there's no reason to go half rad.

If I were you I'd start by just taking the car out for some fun drives, see how it handles, see what works well and what you think could be improved on, generate a parts list off of that, and then determine if stancing it is really what you want to do?

Well I'm going for an aggressive setup. I've never heard of anyone having to
create "custom spindles or surgery on the shock towers" to achieve low
with en EF.

As for the center console, I have seen people with da center consoles. Im
not 100% sure im even going to do this. I know installing a half size requires
making some brackets. I think it looks cleaner inside the bay.

Inb4dericingthread

Wanna go low like slammed by function and form type 2 lower the shock then lower the perches = supper slammed but = to bottoming out. Front suspension the risk of bending the front frame because of tow hooks cracked oil pan broken tierods camber wear and looks like **** you won't be able to drive it ………ps from experience and I was only low 3 in I hated it my ef would get stuck everywhere broke my flange on the headers its horrible

If you're looking for "clean", find a tucked radiator.

DA console looks like poop. DC one is better. Cupholders and arm rest FTW.

And if you're pulling a DC center console from a wrecker, might as well get the shifter too. Chop off a little so that the civic lower bushing fits in it... and presto! OEM short throw shifter. Dual bend FTMFW.

I'd even skip the cam gear TBH... you just don't need it, unless you want bling. I guess.

Clean car though.

When I lowered my car, the suspension had to sit for a while. It's pretty low, but, I've got a 60 sidewall on 15's or something like that. Lol.

you've never heard of drop spindles for domestics, or drop forks for our cars?

cutting shock towers on stupid low cars is done a lot, here's an example of how to do it. https://honda-tech.com/forums/suspension-brakes-54/cut-my-shock-towers-now-problem-help-2740340/

the upper control arms slam into the shock towers because they run out of room to travel up and down. I'm pretty low, front tires are just above the edge of my fenders, and if i hit bumps too harsh i slam my control arms into my shock towers. my sedan actually started to push the upper ball joints out of the arms from this

i dont know how people run into the "not low enough" issue both ef's ive owned i lowered using egay coilovers and when all the way down in the front it tucked so hard you couldn't turn without the tire grabbing the fender ...and in the rear i could go no lower than halfway ....of course that is after cutting half of the spring perch off of the shock and setting the sleeve all the way down into where the perch is welded on

This is what was happening with my car when I bought it. Had to buy new UCA's. Seriously, is it worth it?

I've got those shocks, and, you'll be disappointed. Maybe it's just the springs that suck, I dunno, but my ride is really bouncy. You'd figure you'd get nice ride with Skunk2 shocks+springs, but, it's just crap. I wouldn't spend $300 on them. I only got them because I got a good deal. Springs + shocks for $200. Lol. Totally worth that, for sure.

Just do a DC center console, you'll love it. Way cheaper than a true EF console, way more functional as well.

EF optional audio console OR special edition console = $100+
What does it provide? Storage. Looks neat. Optional audio gets you a din slot. Cool. Bolts right in.

There's mine. I'll never install it. It's useless!

DC Integra center console = I got mine for $40 w/ arm rest.
What does it provide? Cupholders, storage cubby, arm rest for storage, 4 pop-out panels for switches, alarm LEDs, whatever... You just have to screw the bottom console to the EF top console thing. Done.

Mmmm... sexy.

There are also write ups on the console swap. Just do it man, just do it. Bruh.

It's okay. I hope this doesn't smash up your world too much, but believe me when I tell you: Lower is not always better.

say ive ever even seen a dc teggy at LKQ.. then just going to grab any random oem
