i have a 00..the greddy turbo kit is for 96-99

apparently the downpipe is wrong.

anybody get the kit for a 00 and just have the downpipe rewelded?

they cancelled my frickin order so no turbo this week

I say re-order, get the downpipe re-welded shouldnt be hard or expensive, or just run a strait pipe screw the cat.

I can remember last year @ SEMA we talked about your car that you will make a turbo project and sell the JRSC. But damn, this is 1 year ago....sorry for you. Must be ver bad not to boost one whole season.

 

96-99 downpipe length is different than 2000+. I think 2000+ GSR is the same as ITR...

Honda got neat-o and changed the catalytic converter or exhaust or something...

I had the greddy kit installed on my 00 gsr and Im telling you, it ran like ****. The blue box is incompatible with the 00 gsr ecu for some reason. Yea the downpipe needs to be extended and the 02 sensor has to be relocated.

 

DP needs to be extended and a o2 sensor bung needs to be welded in. As for the blue box...you need the ECU diagram for the 00 GSR inorder to wire it up accordingly. HTH

 

yeah apparently when they went to the newer obd2 computer they also moved the cat for better emissions i am guessing. those smart honda engineers

 

yes they said this is another problem. i already have a different fuel management solution though.

so if i get it i will need downpipe extended and o2 bung welded in. thats cool cause i am owed a favor by a local shop.

 

bump. so i can reweld and use a standalone and be on my merry way?

not sure what to do about ehaust, its gonna suck with stock exhaust...

i'll take more passing power at the expense of more maintenance and marginally less reliability.

 

For some reason I think 2000 gsr with their enhanced obdII chip makes a lot less power than the older model gsr...it bites!
