Carbon deposit build after WOT question ??
N00b question. :/
Is it possible to build up carbon deposits after constant aggressive acceleration at WOT ?
ie: Come down to a stop after consecutive runs on the highway.
Aren't carbon deposits a leading symptom for Pre-ignition ?

Pre-ignition is where the fuel ignites way before it should. The result is a bent rod, blown out sleeve, or a hole in your piston.
Carbon buildup is normal, especially if you are tuned too rich. If it's more rich than 13.5:1, there is always going to be excess fuel not getting burned. Unfortunately running that AFR is unsafe for a turbo motor in most cases. Most factory turbo cars run past 11:1 in boost with the stock tune.

But right before atmospheric pressure, is it necessary to beefen' up the transient(AE) from 85-100 KPA going into boost, or should I just stick to the base fuel table and adjust that ?
ie: 85-100 KPA(13.5 AFR) right up above atmospheric pressure, the targeted lambda I'm looking for is 11.1 or is 11.1 just for higher boost levels ?
Even though I'm a noob...it kinda looks to me that it wouldn't flow well into transition if I just went from 13.5 afr(high loads, no boost) into 11.1(into boost)

a leaner fuel mixture at(or around) atmospheric pressure will also help spool the turbo quicker... Ive always set my tunes up with this:
12.7 @ atmo
12:1 @ 1-7psi
11.5 @ 8-14psi
11.0 @ 14+ psi
never really had problems w/ carbon deposits on pistons, valves, etc... Just take it for a 10-15 minute cruise @ a constant speed w/ closed loop enabled to clean up the plugs...

But if I have a proper 14.7 stoich tuned map under open loop is it necessary to enable closed loop to clean up the deposits.
I always wondered about having closed loop enabled during a lower load/mid load range, and open loop enabled after 60+ kpa, is there a automatic setting in eCtune that has this capability.
Switching loops during a load transition ?
