So I recently picked up a 1998 fwd auto with 234k. I noticed that in drive at a stop light it feels like the converter is locking and unlocking. Fluid level is fine and it doesn't always happen its random. Once I start moving though it runs fine and never misshifts or slips or anything. Anyone ever experienced anything like this?

 

i have a breand new torque converter if you want...just let me know

 

my 2002 civiv has an automatic in it and it does a wierd clunk thing sometimes when i slow to yield or make a turn almost li,ke a transmission mount but i have had all motor and trans mounts done any ideas?

yes they are both good its almost like it looses fluid pressure for a quick second then snaps back

 

steering rack and pinion?
