Default d15b7 Swap to jdm d15b Going to pass emissions?

Hey again Honda-tech, looking to gain some more knowledge.

My 93 honda del sol S recently the engine took a **** (d15b7) auto tranny.
I'm a student in school with about a 1-1.2k budget, and i was informed the z6 usdm would swap in with ease but I am haven an issue finding one with decent mileage. I was interested in the JDM d15b its in abundant as i can see on websites and HM motors has one and i live about 30 min from them so i can inspect it. My question to you is if i swap the engines/ upgrade p06 ecu to p28 ect. will this vehicle pass smog? does anyone else live within California that has done this? I don't want to invest the money on a new JdM d15b/ecu/tranny just to have my registration pulled and told to get a USDM.

Aswell if there are things that have to e modified to pass smog is this difficult? Can someone point me in the direction of a guide.
I've been aswell informed that JDM d15b isn't considered a replacement to the USDM d15b7 in California i'd have to have it bar'd?
