Icon2 Rear LCA Install

When I install my F7`s, what`s best practice when tightening the bolts? Do I torque them all the way when the car is up in the air on stands? Or do I hand tighten the bolts when it`s in the air, than torque them completely when the car is on the ground? Just something I`ve always wasn`t sure about.

to correctly "clock" your bushings, the full weight of the car needs to be on them.

so hand tighten, then torque on the ground

Poly bushings do not need to be clocked.

however if you changed the ride height, I would loosen all bushing bolts, and clock them

EDIT-- Make sure you unhook the sway bars when doing it.

You don't have to do it on the ground. You can use a scissor jack to load the suspension while it's still up in the air.

its good practice to tighten the bushings loaded, even if they are poly. there is more than a single axial movement in honda suspension, so just tighten it where it needs to be first.

using jackstands and a jack to do it properly is advised. not just on the ground.

besides, ive always found the rear LCA able to line up and bolted in to the trailing arm easier with it jacked up level.

Only time there's no need to torque with loaded suspension is with spherical bearings.

Rather be safe than sorry. Don`t want to kill my new F7`s in the first year haha...even though they do have a lifetime bushing warranty.

Clock them if you want to. Won't hurt anything.
