Default z6 vitara build. What rods?

Not real familiar with the vitara builds but do you have to use a custom rod when you get these pistons or can you run some eagle rods? any information on the vitara builds would be great.. thanks

Your best bet would be to go with the custom length I beam rods from fjt. Using eagle rods with those pistons will leave you with a ridiculously low compression ratio and sluggish engine response.

both the RC-AutoWorks and P2P0 rods look remarkably like my og fj custom length rods.
either should be able to support 400hp easily.

yeah the eagle rods in the z6 yield a compression somewhere in the upper 7:1 ratio. its pretty bad. even with a ton of ignition timing advance it sluggish out of boost but did boost up fine once you got on it. mainly just cruising around sucked id drive everywhere at like 8" vacuum and it took at least 5-8 mpg off what i though it should be.

get a custom length rod that gets your cr up high 8s to around 9 if possible

p72 rods and some heavy decking/milling can bring vitaras to 10+:1

ahh interesting. the vitaras are still a cast piston though, and part of their extreme effectiveness is the lower compression ratio that they give. while the 7 something with the eagle rods is really too low, bringing it up toward 10:1 i feel starts to detract from using them in the first place
