what is considered too low?
Ok, so i have function and form type 1 coilovers, skunk2 lower control arms, and the rest of the suspension parts are stock on my 97 civic coupe. I was told that when you notice the lower control arms slanted from the rear, it means you're too low. I was told that the control arms are supposed to be going straight across parallel to the frame. I don't know if this theory is true or not but it seems logical to me. i was also told that it would cause too much stress on all your suspension parts when it passes that point. can someone tell me if i am too low from looking at the behind? i don't think its all that low like some of these "hella flush" people. but i need a second opinion please. thanks

This is where my car is and I agree. But! I don't have a camber kit and I need camber bad for autocross. As it sits I've got 2* front camber. Once I get my new suspension over the winter I'll lift the car up and set the camber at 3.5*
glad you all agree with my theory.. everyone i know says my cars 4x4 status and they call me an old man for wanting to have a comfy ride.... owell haha, if i cant fit my jack under the car without b!tchin i hate it. function over form people. low and slow= broken parts.
Progress recommends no less than 11.5" from the wheel center to the top of the fender arch (the only proper way to quantify ride height), and I tend to agree.
I have not see that information from Progress until now and I would fully agree. At that height I am using extended top hats on all 4 corners along with 450LB front and 400LB rear springs.
This is borderline

Everyone has there own opinion on how low to go. The rear lca slanting down wont do any damage to your car. Ofcourse ur handling wont b at its best but ur not supposed to b racing through corners on streets anyways. On my em1 i was tucking tires abit and i live in chicago. Never had any problems wit holes or speed bumps. Angle it everytime and get used to scanning the road for rocks and holes and you wont have any problems. Drive around slammed for over 2 years without damaging anything on the car. I also had it midded abit to help. All four fenders pulled out abit. Exhaust i raised as high as i could for more clearnace wit custom brackets and my front lip was on brackets so if i was on a sharp driveway it had room to move up abit the drop back down. Thats all i reLly did and i enjoyed everyday wit it.

Haha alil work yes but makes car alot better for street driving instead of scrapping everywhere. If you like something or a look go for it. I was sorta obsesed wit going low and i built the car aroind that to not have issues. I also tracked the car at that hiht qithout any issues. Now dont think i mean tucking the full tire into the fenders i had it to the tire slightly was under just barwly covered thread.
