i have an 89 civic hatch dx. Ive never done a swap and wanted to get a few oppions. Is a b16b swap to complicated for a first timmer, if so what would you recomend.

 

U have the base model d15 I assume. The si motor is good for a -20-30 hp gain. But you would need the si trans to feel the power also. What u could also do I what I have done to my dx. Just bolt up an so tranny. Feels way better than stock gas mileage will suffer tho bro series is a bit much for a beginner I would say unless u have experienced friends with you the whole time. All day series motor parts are exchangeable to a degree. Hope this helps

 

Thanks alot for the advice and yes it is a base dx. It has no motor trans or wiring harness right now. so i might just go the d series rout and save a lot of money and time.

unfortunately i just moved to south dakota

 

just remember that you will have to source a dx wiring harness bc the mpfi harnesses out of the others will not work with the cabin harness.
