Fuel Pump issue?
Ok I've dug around the search for this but haven't gotten a clear idea on what could have happened.
Basic info: 89 CRX stock, new fuel filter (1mo), new main relay (6 mo)
I went for a long drive approx 170 miles car ran wonderfully the whole way near the end of the trip i stopped to gas up. Filled the tank and headed on my way. Drove another 20-30 miles and stopped again for some food. The car was off for about 1.5 hours. I came back and i try to start it and while it turns its not getting any fuel. The pump won't prime or anything. I was away from any tools and it was late at night so I got a tow to a friends house. Next morning go out to check it out and everything is working beautifully again. Drove it back home (170 mi) and its run great since (last 3 days of short 5-10 mi trips around town) but now I am paranoid about it going out on my again and leaving me stranded.
Is this a sign that the fuel pump is going bad and needs replacement? It is the original part from 89. What else could have caused this that I can look for?

not sure if you read what he said in his original post....
anyways, i had a similar issue with my CRX last fall. turns out that the fuel pump was bad
before i found that out i had resoldered my main relay, and also got a new one.
take out the fuel pump and put 12v to it to test it. if it does nothing, replace it

When my fuel pump was going out I could bang on the back seat really hard and it would come back on. I had already replaced my main relay at this point. My pump would quit and stay gone til I slammed a fist on the seat.
But yours sounds like a main relay even though it's been replaced. When it gives out, try to listen for the click near the driver's left knee when you turn the ignition to the II position. If the relay clicks but still no start, bang on the center of the rear seat with a fist real hard and see if the pump comes back on. I eventually replaced my fuel pump and haven't had a problem since.
If you have to replace the pump, reply back here first. There's a certain fuel strainer on some replacement pumps that will make it where you can only drive like 100 miles before running out of gas. I have a whole other thread on how to fix that.

Had something simular happen in my by Wagon and my CRX.
Had a loose connection at the connector for the pump assembly. Wagon was loose on the assembly side and CRX was loose on the chassis side.
Tightened up the pin-to-wire connection and haven't had an issue since.
