quick question on a relay/selonoid
ok i have a quick question. dont know if this is in the right place or not but i was wondering if there was a dual switch or dual imput relay/selonoid like a plain relay/selonoid nothing real fancy.
anyway what im looking for is a relay that has two 12v inputs a constant and a switched or two switched to the point were that 1 can be on constant with nothing happening untill u switch the other power on and the relay wont turn off until both switches are off
i did a search and came up with these two diagrams and was wondering from someone with a little more knowledge them me could help me out. not really good with wire diagrams.
found somthing that they called an (and gate) and a (or gate)
this is the (or gate)

this is the (and gate)

any ideas?
if u were wondering i have an idea for a dummy kill switch that is an alarm that once turned on cant be tuned off with out the hidden switch being tuned off

Also you do not want a relay on when ign. is off, it will draw enough currant to kill the batt..
As mentioned a single relay with a hidden switch will do the same thing, or if you want a passive system, wire a pair of relays or a single 3-4 pole relay as latching, only on when ign. is on and will "de-latch" when ign. is turned off, requiring you to "re-latch' it every time you want to start the car.
I have one on my 94 Integra using a "phantom" switch to latch it, and have installed more then a few on other cars, it is very effective because it is passive, you do not have to do anything but turn off the ign. to "activate" the "kill" there is no forgetting to hit the switch.
A latching relay can also be setup to be triggered, by say an alarm, and then stay latched untill it is de-latched using a hidden switch, but again a relay or two staying on when ign. is off could/will eventually kill the batt.
Now to answer your question, I know of no "duel input" relay although it would not surprised me if there was and I found this...

Although technically all relays have two inputs, one on each side of the relay coil, power to one side and ground to the other side, there are however multi-pole relays, [multiple switches] a common one is the 4PDT 12V relay. 94
