Need Pro Advice. Want High Torque for dd EG, what engine. obd2+ w/s300 will be used.
like title states. What engine makes the most torque. I don't care to rev it to the moon, i just want the most torquey combo I can build. Going to do my best for fuel mileage too.
Car I'm trading for is a 92-95 cx hatch with an obd1 ecu and obd1 b16 swap and hydro gsr trans. Willing to trade or sell swap for the most torquey combo possible that i can still have (or have the room to) install a/c and power steering. I am not willing to fabricate engine mounts, i want something that has already been stress tested and proven to work well. my thoughts are k24, b20/vtec whatever. looking for a hydraulic trans with long ratio's too.
I'm open to ideas. I want to make this thing get 25 mpg +, and have no problems with turbochargers and custom engine management. Would even be ok with supercharger..
Thoughts, ideas???... help me out guys. Professional or Educated responses only...Don't make me make you prove your theory... lol
car will be a daily driver to/from work with torque, fuel mileage and comfort mostly important.
thanks in advance, Ryan.

V6 J32- Not sure how many companies are making mounts for them but people are dropping these things into EG's and running 12s with slicks. Hood clearance is probably going to be an issue. There is a guy over in the drag forum that ran a 10.3@ 13x mph on the stock engine with some boost and slicks. Recently dynoed it at 7xx whp and 5xx trq also on the stock engine.

F22a with the adapter for B series transmission and mounts into an EG. These engines are cheap although the trannies and kits are not you could build a sick 2.2 for not too much $ and if it pops drop another one in there for not much cash. These engines generally make about as much hp as they do trq or close.
I guess it really depends on your budget because if you can afford K series, that 2.4 VTEC sounds VERY fun with some boost.

Again, biggest engine you can afford. Not rocket science in this. If you did your research, of which there is not a lot, you would be able to answer your own question. A simple Google search would have eliminated the need to post this thread.
But seeing as how a week has gone by I guess it wasn't really important for you to know.

Speaking for myself here but i am DDing a supercharged d16 right now and the difference in daily driving is huge. Am I claiming it is making some ungodly number NO, is it 300 NO but if this is why you are fixated on a torquey motor for easy street driving? then supercharger might be a better way to go than turbo. even with a small turbo you aren't going to create a lot of bottom end torque. There is a lot of SC info on here in the forced induction thread, people builds of larger up to Eaton M90 superchargers mounted where the A/c is making the number you speak of. You are going to have to do your research. You aren't going to get a lot of info from one question topic, at least not enough for you to make an educated decision.
hope that helps
