Default tranny sound

i have a JDM B18C with ITR LSD tranny
while in 5th gear, the gear will pop out if i let go of the gas pedal
thought it might be the clutch so decided to replace the clutch
only thing wrong was the pilot bearing, which came out in two pieces when i pulled it out
my question is, with the tranny out is it suppose to make a sound like ball bearings dropping and turning inside the tranny when you turn the shaft?
im sorry in advance if there is something similar up already. i jus need some answers quick because i dont want to put the tranny back and find out i will have to take it back out. weather is hot and i dont have time to take the car apart. thanks

Should not make a sound like that. Either a bearing is shot (likely the top CSB) or the 5th sleeve assembly needs to be replaced. How low did you run it on oil and for how long?

I do agree that a 5th gear pop out is usually the result of low oil. The clunk noise you hear when you twist the input shaft back and forth is normal IMO.
