How low are you dropped? I'm running 225/50 on stock 15's with a 1 inch drop and I don't rub at all. I've seen people run 225/50 on 16's also with no issues.
Does it rub on the inside or the outside fender?
Stock size for a type-r 17" wheel is 205/40/17, so it should be 195/50/16. My winter tires are of that size btw.
Btw, the wheel ET seems a bit off? My stock 17" type-R wheels are +45 et, so +27 seems a bit off. Maybe that causes the rubbing.

^We don't drive type-r's, we have stupid fast si's
. Stock tire sizes for usdm ep3's are 195/60/15 for 02-03 and 205/55/16 for 04-05 but that's not enough rubber for our fat pig of a car. We need at least 215mm wide tires, that's why I run 225's and you will feel the difference.
