b series opinions
i have a 96 it swap with lsd in my 98 hatch, however the clutch is starting to slip in higher rpms, the car has just bolt ons, i/h/e. so i wanted to know the most recommended clutch, im leaning towards exedy stage 1 clutch. however id like to hear otheres opinions for a dd and stockish hp. thanks
Is the current clutch stock? If so there is your Exedy Stage 1 review.
I only run Action Clutch unless it is a twin disc. For stock'ish cars or DD's I like the 1KS and for dual purpose cars I like the 1MS/1MD.

< loves his exedy stage 1
beware people selling exedy's oe replacement as a stage 1. exedy's stage 1 is also around double the price of a oem replacement. but if you poke and prod around honda-tech you can usually find someone selling them cheaper.
i've also had excellent experiences with competition clutch.
either way, throw in a nice, light flywheel while your at it

Exedy stage 1 is not the oem clutch. It's an oem clutch manufacturer, but the stage one has a higher clamping load pressure plate. This does make the pedal stiffer and would probably be a great match for what the op is looking for. I had one survive many passes at the drag strip on slicks too (see sig)
Exedy, FCC and Luk have made oem clutches for various Hondas over the years.

Always been an ACT loyalist, but decided to do an Exedy stage 1 with flywheel for my mild b20 daily bud. I can't say enough good things about it, although I don't drag race anymore so I can't say anything about how it holds up if you're planning on beating the **** out of it.

Pedal feel is great. Just a touch heavier than stock, otherwise totally normal. I don't think twice about having my girlfriend drive it if I need to.
Get the flywheel too.

it's heavy. and our engine's don't create enough torque as it is, let alone to allow it to be sucked up by a giant steel disc's high moment of inertia.
it's night and day to stock. throttle response and acceleration are noticeably improved. although the 9lb does take a little bit of getting used to. i forget what the itr's weighs.. i know it's lighter than the normal b, but it's nothing crazy.

Never had a problem from Fidanzas. Don't use them on boosted setups and replace the friction pad when you replace the clutch and you'll be fine. I've been using one on my DD/HPDE car since 2005 with no problems.
What clutch would you go with if you wanted to make alot more HP but still DD ? like a GSR sleeved to 84mm with manly turbo tuff rods and wiseco pistons ACL race bearings 8.8:1 with b16 head and considerable boost?
im bumping my thread, again i have a jdm itr, i went to thmotorsports to prder my clutch, well i assumed a b series clutch is a bseries clutch so i looked up one for 99 si and its 140, and just to double check i looked at one for a type r (assuming theyd be the same) and the type r is 170.. is it just the torque rating thats different? i assume i should get the type r clutch but wanted a secondopinion. ( by the wa the car has basic bolt ons, nothing more
