Safety indicator question
Just tinkering with some stuff to fix minor issues in the Accord. Fixed my power locks yesterday by finding out that the control box solder points crack over time. Resoldered points and now they work!
I have another problem with my doors though. Last person put a junkyard door on and my safety indicator in my gauge cluster doesnt recognize the door. Ripped the door panel off and I cannot find a missing wire. Any idea where this wire is that connects the door to the custer wires??

I don't know if it's any different in a 95, but in my 96, the door indicators in the dash are switched by a button on the door frame, not the door itself (mine in proper working order are some kind of button covered in a black rubber nub, slightly below the latch area). just tested for drivers side front and rear doors, pushing the button inside the rubber switched the light off even with the door wide open.
Thanks guys. Yeah I knew the door switch activated the overhead light, and I am missing the rubber part. I can push the button and activate the light, I just can't get the gauge cluster to show the door open or closed. Not a biggie, I just want to fix all the minor bugaroos with the car. I am going to pull the switch and check the wiring.
that should be part of the same circuit (part of the ICU) although i'm not 100%. if you could get a hold of another gauge cluster and plug it in to see if it works, you would be able to tell if the cluster is bad (or at least the indicator on the cluster)
Read through wiring diagrams yesterday and I have work to do tonight. Door switch works on passenger side to turn on overhead light, but courtesy light on door and gauge cluster do not work. There is a short or disconnected wire somewhere. The door switch grounds the red/green wire and activates the overhead light but not the red/green connection in the gauge cluster or door light. The car was obviously hit if they replaced the door so maybe something was pinched. I am going to have to trace the red/green from the door switch to see if there is a break before it branches to the gauge cluster and door light. Wish me luck!

Here I was thinking if it worked the overhead light maybe you just had a bulb out in your cluster, but if it doesn't work the door light either...
Good luck, have fun!
