Greddy 15g on LS
So I've been wanting to boost my stock b18 for a while. A tdo4h 15g came up locally with rc550 injectors, bov, sandwich plate, elbow, Fmic, and d-series cast manifold. It's fairly cheap at 500 but will it work well with the ls? I'm looking for 200whp +/- 10. Also looking at keeping the motor stock for now. I know I will need a b-series manifold. Is there one for the 15g that will allow me to keep my a/c (it's an eg coupe). Not looking for a track monster just a fun and reliable dd. will the 15g be any good?
You'd have to find a B-series GReddy manifold for the T25 flanged setup for either the 15G or 18G, which is a better fit, anyway.
You'll need to find that manifold in order to use the 15G. If not, give it up, and get another turbo and manifold combination (more recommended.)

yea, the manifolds are really hard to find, all i ever see on ebay are the d-series ones...
now, a company copied the b-series greddy manifold (kinda) and gave it an external wastegate but it still has a t25 flange, you could get a block off plate and run the 15g just fine. Search ebay for b16 t25, that should bring it up IIRC.
While the 15g will work, it wont have any top end what so ever.. It will strictly be a low to mid range turbo... making for a very fun light to light car... just dont expect to win any highway battles

Here you go http://www.ebay.com/itm/B16-B18-CAST...vxp=mtr&_uhb=1. Do it, for $500 as long as the turbo is good that is a good deal. Being that you have a stock LS that does not have much top end or the revs to make the power up top, go for a good low to mid range street build. Shoot for 200-220whp and have fun with it. It will be fun to drive on the street from the low end and quick spool of the small 15G and it will be reliable. Get it tuned!!!!!
Thanks nealnanoHx
that manifold looks ac compatible or am I wrong. I think I'll go for it. I would have to drive an hour to get to the closest dyno but there are some local guys that do street tunes. Should I trust the street tune?

He didn't say that it would negatively impact anything. Most of the power this turbo makes is in the midrange of the power band and not-so-much up top.
I see. Now quick question. If the turbo creates positive pressure in the manifold, what effect does that have on vacuum components like the brake booster and the like.

Not a concern as you won't be trying to stop the car while you have your foot planted lol. All of the other components really don't function as when you run a chipped obd1 ecu all of the emissions equipment is rendered inoperable since the obd1 ecu doesn't have the ability to control them (assuming your car is obd2)
Also the real trick to ac compatibility is in the downpipe design

And what i meant was this turbo on that size motor makes most of its power in the low to mid part of the rpm range.. While it will have some top end it won't be anything like what you experience low to mid rpm
