Icon2 D16a6 into 1996 Honda Civic DX

Ok so now its running as follows:

D16A6 in a OBD2a EK hatch
D16Y8 distributor
P2P ECU (D16Y8)
red lines at 5600 because thats when vtec kicks in on this ecu

So which ecu should we be running? A P06 with a step down? What about the distributor? Would like to get it to run full to 7K rpm.

Brand new spark plugs and o2 sensor as well. Someone has to know something...

What intake and exhaust manifold did you use? You can't use a two wire IACV with the P2E ECU. Have any check engine lights?

d16z6 intake manifold with the d16a6 header it came with. and yes there is a cel...but the shell is a obd2a shell with a obd0 motor etc. Should we still plug it up with a obd2a scanner? And he isn't using a P2E ecu...I said P2P.

Doesn't the 96 have a crank position sensor and crank gear with "teeth" that the crank position sensor picks signals up from (located at the front of the engine slightly behind and to the side of the crank pulley). earlier models have it in the dizz but the later have the sensor. Could this be what you are missing

Could be? We haven't touched any of that.

Running a p06 will eliminate half your OBD2 issues but you'll still need to change the IACV to 2 wire at the plug and ECU.
