90 honda accord ex
the tranny got changed due to a burn converter. so the new used tranny we got from the junkyard was fine its an automatic by the way. until after my warranty went out the reverse gear started giving problems. well the problem is mostly when the car is cold. like morning starts. when put into reverse it creeps slowly without giving it gas and sometimes the gear disengages and then it engages harsh sometimes with a grinding noise like if you would shift a 5 speed without a clutch after that noise it will engage again then again disengage. but once engine is warm it rarely does it. and sometimes when i put the car in park and i go turn off the car i get this sort of grinding gear again and thats in park. so my question is is the reverse driven by the shift solenoids as well. if so is it the bottom one or the top one? or is it driven by tcu only? i have checked the tcu and it looks fine. i swapped it in for the one my 91 accord has and same thing. so its not the tcu. oh and the grinding noise when in park it did it with the other transmission that is shot as well
