Icon2 2000 Civic Gauge conversion ?? plz help

Can I use digital gauges in place of my old instrument cluster? I got rid of my old cluster and want to make a custom one. Is it as simple as finding the fuel wire that plugs into the cluster and connecting it to the digital gauge or is there a lot more to it? I mean ultimately I would like to get a cluster out of a 2006 si. So can I connect the speedometer wire from my stock harness to the new one which is digital and it will work just fine or am I crazy?

Unless you want to run all new sensors for most of the gauges, you're going to run into difficulty with signal conversion.

An alternative would be something like Tunerview or similar or maybe AEM serial gauges. These require interaction with the ECU or a 3rd party EMS.
