Becoming impossiable
I've come to realize these cars are slowly disappearing. I can't find interior parts that are in any kind of good condition among other parts. Where has anyone had any luck with all these beautiful builds i see popping up. btw yes tried junkyrd,cl,b20
Most of the guys who build up are buying parts new from HONDA. or they have junkyards with not a lot of traffic. I live in Chicago. If there is a good car in JY, then its stripped that same day it comes in. I am trying to buy the trunk box pieces for my crx and cannot find it for less than 100$. thats ridiculous.
Yeah same around me people go to junkyards and since they don't think about other people they smash stuff for fun and take what they want smh. I would suck t up and buy some stuff from honda but half of it is discontinued.
It can be tough finding good parts but there are still some good ones around. I recently found a mint 91 ox in the junkyard with only 74k on it. If you know what you are looking for you can contact one of the parts locator guys like I do to help track down parts. The good condition parts are not cheap though. Supply and demand dictate prices.
Check http://www.picknpull.com/check_inventory.aspx daily. You have to get there asap because that stuff goes quick.
I want the full trunk, any interior plastics if there in good condition, fenders, hood. Might as well buy shell but there sold off faster then posted.

I actually own two CRXs because of this. I have a good one, and a spare one. It is cheaper to just pick up a second CRX than it is to buy the parts. I talked a guy down from 1500 to 700, on one that had a good interior.
Every once in a while you will find a person parting one out for good prices. I found one guy on CraigsList, and picked up doors foe $25 each, they even had door panels.

Pick-N-Pull bought up the local junkyard to me in BC Canada and I noticed that their inventory system up here does not specify between Civic and CRX... It *used* to but they changed it. To get any CRX parts you have to be there every morning to check the yard because the online inventory is also on a 1-2 day delay. Hot items like distributors are usually gone instantly. If I find one good dizzy in a year of visits, that is considered good...
EFs are a labor of love. It's getting harder by the day to find parts. If you have an EF it's because you absolutely love it or you are just stuck with it for some reason.
I used to check Pick N Pull's inventory every morning and if an 88-91 Civic showed I went during my lunch break to check it out. Yeah, they don't differentiate betwwen Civics, CRXs, or Del Sols. I was able to snag a lot of interior stuff. I've never seen an engine hit the yard, it seems that they are pulled and sold off.
Craigslist is good depending on your area. I see a few shells or people parting out cars. Prices suck, people want $200 or more for decent Si front seats. I understand supply and demand but it's riduculous for people to think that you're going to pay $500 for 20-year-old seats. I talked to a guy who had front and rear Si seats, they were faded but no major rips. He wanted $500 for the set and wouldn't budge on the price. I just wanted the rears but he wouldn't split them up either. Only someone trying to do a restoration is going to pay that kind of money and most people around here driving EFs don't fall into that category.
