Default action clutch or competition stage 5 with the upgraded pressure plate

So i just got my car tuned and made 580whp and somewhere around 400 ft lb on an ACT Maxx extreme.. Took the clutch out and pieces of the puck are missing. Trying to get another clutch to put back in the car but not sure. I just want your imput on which one you guys think. I had the action about a year ago and love it. But i heard the competition clutches are good also and I can get a better deal.

Why did you take the clutch out? Was there something wrong prior to taking the clutch out?

How many miles on the clutch? If it is new, did you break it in?

Take pictures and contact ACT. They might send you a replacement...

You may have just got a defective unit.

Eh, my act was doing the same thing, fingernail size pieces of the friction surface were missing. I was going through 2 disks a year. I switchec over to the comp st 5 w ith upgraded pp and its smooth as butter. Got somewhere just shy of 8000 miles on it in the last year or so and the disk looks brand new. Never slipped, never locked me out of gear at high rpm. Its a great clutch, though u might be at the upper limit of a single disk setup with 400ftlbs.

Sidenote I ran an action 2md setup on a 300ish hp vitara motor years ago and I was pleased with that as well. Both choices are better than the act
