I would be there but no tires!

Anyone have ITR wheels with race tires I could rent. I really don't want to spend 700 bucks ( new Hoosiers) for a weekend then let them sit for 5 months and get hard.

I signed up for the Novice group a few weeks ago, but I think I'm going to upgrade to the Intermediate... I simply didn't have any room to push the car through the twisties as often as I wanted in the Novice class...

 

geez, matt!

don't do anything to the motor; just do the safety stuff. You have three weeks to get a front half of a cage installed, a window net, a kill switch, a seat, and belts.

all easily doable.

you can race if you get on it right away.

 

I should be out there. I wonder if Dennis Lentz will be showing up with his Grand Am prepped Type R. He has a fast lap of 1:24.9 during a race.

You are right about that, but my priority with this car is to do it right from the start. For the work I'm doing to the car, I don't want anybody but this guy to do it. I'll deal with missing a race or two this year to have it right. Besides, I like the idea of doing a couple of non-comp events with the car before I try for wheel to wheel. I need to know exactly how it is going to handle and brake....

Not ragging on you in particular, but since when does the STUDENT get to determine when they are moved up in the groups??? Is this a NASA thing? Yikes. (<-- again, not directed at you in particular)

 

I'm going to speak with my instructor... he was busy with other students and with the small bore race, so I wasn't able to chat with him before I left.
