Icon2 Is my clutch on last leg?

I was coming home from work and took a windy road so i stayed in 3rd gear between 5-6k rpms for this road which is about probley a min total at most. After that about 10 min later coming to a light and down shifting from 5-4-3 at 3rd and cruising to the red light about 3k rpm i could hear what sounded lik a ticking and would stop after going to 2 and coming to a stop. I changed my mtf with hmtf about 1000miles ago and put new shifter bushing in 2 wks ago. The car is a 00' covic ex with about 129,000 miles on stock clutch. Theres no slips with itbut just wondering what would cause a tick/rattle. Some said tob(throw out bearing) but idn any help is great thanks guys.

A failing clutch does not usually tick/rattle. Or at least I never heard of it. Usual signs are slipping, hard to get into gear and clutch pedal itself letting out at the top.

But I mean...If your clutch hast 130k on it....its time to change!

I don't see how its lasted that long if it is truly the stock clutch.

Why don't you think the tick is from the engine? Is the engine oil low?

As far as i know the problem could be on valve springs and or guides. if they arent working properly could happen that the valve stays open and piston close it, but at the end yes u are lttl paranoid

took the VC off today and inspected the belt and it looks new so im really happy about that with no rips, or freys and the water pump is a new one or at least looks it so im extra happy about that. im gonna get a valve job done next week i could probley learn to do it but ehh ill just pay for this job, i usually do my own stuff. but like before can you hear valve tick at high rpm only on decel. i dont hear it when im getting up to speed or anything?

from what i can understand from ur psts it seems is valve/rocker arm gap to be adjusted. I sincererly hope there's no valve stays open when to be closed and piston closes it. this means new valve guides
