Default EJ1 Build Thread

What's up everybody?

Well I have been in the game for about 8 years now, and finally landed a decent canvas to make a project out of. I started with a 95 EJ1 that I totaled, moved to a 94 Teg LS that I got for a steal only to find out the entire underneath was shot and it wouldn't pass inspection without a ton of $ so I sold it, and actually let the dude know what he was getting into... then I stumbled upon this gem. It had front end damage, interior was fresh and the underneath was in awesome shape (Virginia Car) and I knew the dude that had it, so I got it cheap. I'll post pics of the day I got it and the progress that has been made to date.

After getting a new core welded on, JDM black housings and fogs and got the front in pretty good shape, I hit a deer... so I had to restart. Got a cheap set of F1 fenders as a temp, and by cheap I mean $10,winter was coming and I needed to have something to cover everything up. As it sits right now I have the stocks back on, will post pics of those tomorrow.

Enjoy!

Also I took a die grinder to the entire rear underneath of the car including wheel wells, trailing arms. Hit everything with rust treatment (no rust at all really but a few surface spots) and painted... including s2 springs.

nothing good yet? I can see your point as far as not getting the boost locked down or a built motor... but I had to get this thing to where it is now before I take that step.

Dont take effense dude....All I see is a ebay special taking place, and a very much un-needed larger throttle body that will only take away power on that motor. Good luck with build

Right, because spending $300 on a part that you can spend $100 with the same quality only a fancy name that everyone knows is necessary. The throttle body is bolted to an N/A motor, correct... but not for long. I got the steering wheel and LCA's from ebay, that's all. Thanks for the comments bro!

I also got my p/s delete hooked up, found another clutch fluid reservoir at a local u-pull it. Back in November when I smashed the front up again, the p/s reservoir took most of the hit and the pump ended up running dry... needless to say I just took everything out. Now that the rack has some lubrication, the turning difficulty hasn't changed much if any... but at least I know it's not running empty.

Started a headlight harness tuck/relocation today, instead of pulling everything through the firewall I'll just be putting the wires on the driver side through near the clutch reservoir, and the passenger through near the fuse box. Will have pics tomorrow when it's all finished up.

Are you trying to call me out on it man? Or are you actually interested? I just finished it, it was a pain in the ***... I only did the headlights/corners, horn, fan switch harness, and the other side headlights/corners, and wiper sprayer. I didn't go all out with a full tuck, in case anyone took it as that, I just hated how the headlight harnesses made the bay look like ***. I ran the passenger side out through a hole that was between fuse box and inner fender, and driver side near the clutch reservoir. Now that I'm a bit more comfortable with it I may jump in a little deeper, but that was definitely enough for now lol Will post pics when I get the digi cam back... I found the damn SD card, it was in the computer the whole time. lol

I will have pics as soon as I can, sorry for all of the misunderstandings everybody... shitty few days I guess. Will update back tomorrow when I can get some pics taken and uploaded. Didn't mean to stir the pot, it's easy to take things the wrong way over the net... I'll keep you all posted.

wasn't too bad over all... somewhat of a pain. The worst part I think was getting everything organized to solder and heat shrink, then re-wrapping everything and finding it's respectable location. I think anyone with basic wiring skills can do this, just remember to stay organized and pay attention to what you're doing... and be patient.

Also relocated ground from VC to the intake manifold, and from there to the inner fender near strut tower.

Also the reservoir near the FPR is for my p/s delete! Works like a charm. I just cut the lines about 4" from the rack and used some new sections of hose, clamps, and a plastic "T"... and a flywheel bolt for the third hole since I lost all of my fluid overnight not realizing.
