Where to find pg6 pistons? Or something comprable
Ok so I have been searching high and low for a set of pg6 pistons from a browntop (86-87 d16a1) and can't for the life of me find any!
Any Ideas on where to get them? not really wanting to pay dealership prices plus no acura dealership anywhere near me.
So...any ideas?

why not just run p29s from the 88-89 d16a1s. I'm not sure what your plans are but I've heard p29s are easier to deal with in motor builds and just overall a better set up
Not wanting to run P29's as they are an inferior design, being an automotive engineering student, I would prefer something more efficient. P29's sit down in the hole, causing bad quench, and the high dome isn's exactly ideal either, bad for flame travel. PG6 should put me at around 10.3:1 and p29 at around 11.1:1, but because of the bad design of the p29's they make almost the same amount of power.
Side note, if anyone knows the effects of shaving piston tops down, let me know, as I am also interested in using PM3 pistons, but the compression hight on them is a bit too high

kay, quick google search took me to rock auto with the only place in stock 81 bucks a pop... if you don't mind me asking whats your overall build you are doing?
Its the d16a6 from my 88 si, lost oil psi in a corner and gor rod knock, so at 215K miles it has its first major problem. While its out i'm bumping the compression ratio up a bit for some extra power and MPG's
Also having a friend help me port and flow the head, intake mani, and header. Shot peening the rods if I don't use LS rods, bearings are WPC coated for reduced friction, and pistons are coing to be coated on the skirts as well. Going with flat faced valves, titanium springs and retainers, and if I can source a cam that fits my needs going with that.
Basically a full build using stock-ish parts, and making it appear and run as stock as possible, while shooting for 140+ WHP.
Plus it gives me a chance to put all this expensive schooling to use :-D

sounds like you got a nice plan for a n/a sohc, Guy i use to go to school with used his d16a6 in his 91 si as a project for auto class doing a rebuild using p29s and a delta 272 cam. We took it for a ride with stock cam then switched to the delta 272 even without tuning it was still day and night so much more mid range power. It did have a lumpy idle tho, think he said it was like 100ish for the regrind may look into that. Never saw any numbers on paper but he said it was at 140whp

Hopefully it all works out!
This is my first honda and so far it has all gone smooth, its nice to have a car thats all oem, just seems to make the process smoother
But I'm Hoping someone will chime in with an idea where to find these pistons!
