Default 1995 accord possible purchase

Im new to this forum and I'm looking for some advice. I looked at a 95 accord ex yesterday with an auto trans 174,000 on it. It seemed to run really strong. Shifted kind of hard but drove good. Is there anything that I should be skeptical of with a car like this? Are theses autos reliable along with the rest of the car? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I would see if the oil in the tranny is burned or not. That may or may not be the reason for the hard shifting. That or low oil.

Id pass on an Auto. They are ticking time bombs. Usually if purchased new and the atf is changed on time and regularly they are ok. The number 1 cause of AT failures is neglect.

nothing wrong with autos... the '98-'02 models are the ones with weak trannies. a '95 has a great auto tranny if it wasn't neglected. Check the tranny fluid if its dark there might be a problem.

Thanks everybody. I guess the bigger issue is if the tranny is not serviced right the rest of the car can't be that good.
