Default '95 civic + zc swap rev limit 3k rpm's and bogs when given throttle!

I've got a '95 ex w/a dohc zc swap. First off timing is on but it idles @ 2k rpm's all day hot/cold warmed up or whatever. Throwing codes 41/21 and 14. I give it throttle/rev it only goes to 3k rpm's makes a horrible bogging sound and dies and if I gently push in the gas slowly it revs too the max? Now if I try driving it it bogs at pretty much any throttle and dies down and cuts off or stalls out!

I'm clueless as to what the issue could be? I've tried all I know and it currently runs on a d15b7 dizzy due to the zc one being bad. Thanks for any idea's or help.

The codes are there for a reason. Fix them, and it might just fix your idle and revving issue. Primary O2 sensor heater, VTEC spool solenoid valve, IACV.

Start off by making sure your O2 sensor is A) plugged in, B) not fouled, and C) the wires are in good condition. You can find a write-up here

Second, make sure your VTEC solenoid is plugged in, functional, and the wires are in good shape. You can find information on testing the VTEC solenoid in this thread.

Third (and this is probably what's causing your idle problems) test your IACV and make sure that it is functioning, clean, and wired correctly. Also make sure that all of your vacuum lines are hooked up correctly.

o2 is not hooked up, would that really cause my car to act in such a way? I've never had a issue like this from an o2. I can not clip in vtec due to not having a motor with VTEC. I'm running a dohc zc 1.6L non vtec. And I'll try the IACV I know they give me issues from the past but never anything like mentioned. Thanks.

What ECU are you running then?

you need a obd1 dohc zc dizzy. the timing on a sohc d and dohc d are completely different. there is no other way around this. stop before you damage the engine. if you dont believe me keep trying and youll have a paper weight in no time at all. also get a d15b7 ecu aka a p06. that vtec ecu will not run anything correctly but a vtec engine.

Then get the correct ECU for your car, hook up your O2 sensor, and THEN try to fix your IACV.
