99-00 Bumper mod - possible?
I've been playing around with Photoshop, and came up with this. I'm not sure if it's been done before or if an actual part exists for something similar, but I think it looks pretty cool. It gives a more aggressive look (I think) while remaining as OEM-looking as possible.
What I basically did was flip the middle vent opening of the bumper around so it's longer at the bottom and shorter at the top. The way it is on a stock bumper makes the car look happier (lol). I'm guessing it would be a huge hassle to even attempt this and it'd probably severely weaken the structure, but I'm not sure as I have no experience in that.
Here's the original, and yes I did change the color of the car:

I'm sure it can be done with major work but why would you need to do that other than personal preference. The difference from oem to flipping it is hardly even noticeable.
I'm guessing you actually cut the vent out, flip it and mold it back into the bumper to smooth out the lines of cut? Some reinforcing on the backside too I suppose. I may be completely wrong, not sure.

I would guess you would have to cut out the vent from the front side of the bumper and try to cut it out as square or rectangular as possible and the just flip it and plastic weld the entire vent back in as a single piece then worry about reinforcing it later after you get it in and sanded and molded flush to the bumper since the backside doesnt have to be flawless.
I know it seems a bit pointless but hey, wouldn't be very fun if everyone was doing the exact same thing. Subtle is the way I like to approach it, and I really don't care if people can't tell the difference. To me, flipping the vent gives a bit more of an aggressive look without compromising the factory look.
Thanks for your thoughts on this approach
