Default Question about a b18C1 conplete block.. Please!!! I need answers tonight

I found one locally for $800. Complete short block with everything.

Now assuming I buy this, I am going to need a b series VTEC complete head. I have seen them sold here for $500-$900....(b16 to ITR)

So short block + head will put me in $1600..... Is it worth it for a future swap or would it be better to save up for a full swap from hondamotorsonline for example?

I am going to be putting this into my 92 VX. The short block is USDM.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK? Am I going to be saving or wasting money?

Last question: What is the cheapest transmission that will work with a B18C1? Could I keep my stock transmission? (I know stupid question but I am on a budget)

Time is not a problem but money always is....

Thanks to the best Honda tech site on the web!!!

I did do a search and learned a lot... I just want to know what you guys think???

Thanks again,

Nick

You'd be better off finding an entire swap with tranny and everything else. That way you can do it in one day instead of having parts pile up and spending money with no imediate benefit.
