'99 Accord LX stalling issue.
Hello guys,
I was looking at this '99 Accord LX yesterday with an odd issue.
The car starts, runs fine and then just shuts off. It seems as if all the power from the dash is taken away, EXCEPT the immobilizer. When the car stalls, the immobilizer flashes 5 times. You turn the key to the off position it flashes another 5 times, then you can start the car again.
Can this be an issue with the immobilizer?
Usually, when I see bad immobilizers they stay lit. This seems like the main relay is cutting power to everything.
What do you guys think?

I have a 98 v6 sedan and had a similar issue. Engine would die then it would spin but not start for 3-5 mins. After that period it would fire right up. Everyone's first guess was the ignition switch. I replaced it and still had the same issue. I then replaced the main relay and it hasn't stalled since.
I have the same problem with my 99 accord v6 lx. I have replaced the ignition switch, distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs & ignition coil. I have even cleaned out the throttle yet the car still stalls! Just recently it stalled 6 times in one day! 4 of those times happened with in 15mins while driving down the ave! I've taken it to honda and left it for them to check it out, they diagnosed it and did not find anything, they kept my car for 3 days, still nothing! I've talked to a few mechanics and they've told me that its very common for 6th generation accords and that it's probably bad engineering. 6th generation accords are lemons!
