Honest Time in the Honda-Tech Drag Section
Can we have honest time in the Honda-Tech Drag Racing section?
We continually have problems with several companies within our industry. These aren't one time issues these are patterns that have developed over the last 5+ years and aren't going away anytime soon.
It is not okay for people to knowingly let others continued to get ripped off.
This is the place to come for the Honda/Acura Drag Racing community and Sport Compact Drag Racing as a whole for that matter so this is our chance to actually make a difference.
Unfortunately it seems the powers that be don't like the Honda-Tech justice system to work as wonderfully as it does so things get swept under the table.
Can we please work together here and get the word out about these companies here in the Drag Racing forum (not some random sales feedback forum that no one ever looks at) -- how about a sticky Sales Feedback thread here in the Drag Racing section where it can actually make a difference?
I am tired of hearing my customers complain about the same companies over and over again and we all need to come together to stop this.
Who is with me......

all i can say is do a little research before buying from a vendor. sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt. its a hit or miss with any company these days.

Sounds good to me.
I just dont understand why a company can't be honest and say "unfortunately x product you ordered is going to be on back order for x amount of time or I can't get x product, would you like me to give you a refund or are you ok in waiting". Yes companies use the back order crutch when they forget to order or just have problems getting the product, but lets be real here customers would rather have honesty than some BS run around story and would probably give that company another shot.
In my industry word of mouth is the biggest marketing tool I have and it amazes me that companies in the race/car industry can over look this and continue to treat customers the way they do. I have figured out in the many years of racing who to deal with and who to stay away from, but the average customer doesn't always have the resources we do to pick honest and top notch companies.
So, I totally agree with James on this one.

I think you'll find the market place outside of the USA has grown significantly, buying goods on US soil means you have some come back, if however you're not US based it boils down to recommendation and mainly trust, so threads such as this do in fact serve a very good purpose.
I have experienced problems when purchasing from US based companies, on 2 occasion I had problems and eventually had to take the hit as there was no way to follow up remotely.
It only takes a few less than average companies to taint peoples view before they tar the rest with the same brush, all I can say is try to think a little further than your shoreline as others want to trade with a degree of confidence.

I think its a very good idea. Just make sure you don't get yourself set up for someone to sue you for enormous amount of money just because you are speaking the truth. Dont' have to name names, we all know who we are talking about.

Threads need to be left open and in this section. Just because one person gets there "item" after months of run around, The thread is closed and the other 50 people still waiting continue to get screwed. Locking threads or moving them to a "sales feedback thread" (which is on another website and most people aren't even aware of the section) is BS. There is a Drag Race FS and Drag Racing WTB thread in here, There needs to be a Feedback section in here as well if the threads are going to be locked or moved.
Yep. Better hope you don't have a competing business with who you are trashing bc they will sue you.
It would probably be easier to list the known good sellers who continually provide good customer service. If I really felt the need to buy something from someone who has had a questionable reputation then I will buy it through one of the other shops. The only real problem with these threads is that every shop/person has so many nutswingers that they could seem legit enough to the average person with few isolated incidents.
I'm down. I'll even start.
I recently order some exhaust valves from IPG, Got em quickly shipped, didn't even need to check tracking once.
I've also ordered a NUMBER of parts from Harris(xenocron) and literally never had to worry about things being late or mis-handled. I've also delt with Dave @ R2M, RSTECH,Corr Performance, Art @ YCU(pistons), CCT, Sheepey and a number of other companies who have done me right.
I've got a ton more vouches, but this is just some recent transactions that I've had with people. I'm a firm believer in communication..reguardless of how long something takes. When a customer orders a set of camshafts, i'm always in touch every 3-4 days just keeping them informed. Sometimes its hard to remember all the people to call back, or to make that effort but it needs to be done. People need to feel secure about buying high end parts.

Pherable.net A+ service and prices!
Ordered my 5858 and 46mm precision wastegate.
Summit racing next day delivery to my house at no cost.
I know S2 gets a lot of hate lately but they also have always offered me great service!
I have had a lot of other not so great service, but nothing to get upset about.
Typically any of the BAD experiences I have had we're through individual sellers.

The person who fabricated this front end left us with no choice but to hire an attorney. He appears to be a legitimate business however that is questionable considering he is operating under 2 different names. Sure he has a good reputation on the surface...dig around a bit and it's a whole other story.
I can't even count how many facebook messages and emails we received from racers across the country who were scammed by this person. For some guys it took months of saving to buy a part from him, and they never got their product. Others' wives just had babies or they are paying for school, they couldn't pursue legal action. It's awful, shame on him for stealing peoples' money....

I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience with your fiberglass front end, but without specifically saying who produced it your not doing anyone any good.
she probobly thought everybody new already. it was in a couple of threads and on the build thread of the car on here
I'm all for some up front truth, but the problem is this:
It will either turn into a long winded bunch of sob stories that readers must sift through in order to decipher whats just an emotional rant and what's substatial. Or it will be a bunch of pussies too afraid to put anybody on blast and just being vague.
I think at this point I prefer the "Miller way": find the offender and threaten to kick their *** in person until you get your money or product. Fight shady with shady.
